About Me

People from all walks of life come for counselling, and I hope the following information helps you decide whether to make contact with me.

I'm a specialist bereavement counsellor, and I am also here for you if you're experiencing stress, depression or other mental health issues, the impact of domestic abuse, parenting, communication or relationship issues.

I offer a person-centred approach to counselling, and I will work to ensure I am someone you feel safe with and can wholeheartedly trust. I believe in valuing people just as they are, so I will not judge or criticise you, nor define you by any diagnosis you may have.

I will listen attentively to how things are for you - what you're feeling and experiencing, and we will work at your pace. I won't provide solutions or advice because I trust you're the only person that can know what is best for you.

I can work creatively using art - I have received training in art therapy and expressive arts therapy, and a creative approach may benefit you if you find it difficult to put feelings into words or would prefer to express yourself in this way.

I will journey with you, and my role is to help you make sense of your difficulties, find a way through them and continue to be the best you can be.

I work online through Skype, and at my practice based in the heart of Eastleigh, and I can see you for as long as you need. An introductory session offers an opportunity to establish if we could work well together, and I will do my utmost to put you at ease.

If you would like to book an introductory session or ask questions before taking that step, please call 07729 193629 or email me through this profile or my website.

Qualifications & Experience

As an Accredited Professional Registrant of the National Counselling Society, I adhere to their Code of Ethical Practice and regularly consult with a counselling supervisor. I hold full professional liability insurance.

My qualifications include:

Certificate in Couple and Family Counselling

Certificate in Grief and Bereavement Counselling

Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Dip.PC, Distinction)

Certificate of Higher Education in Counselling (Cert.HE)

Centra Counselling Level 1.

I have worked with adults for years - initially through support roles within the public and voluntary sector such as Women's Aid, Solent Mind, NHS Adult Mental Health and Cruse Bereavement Care.

I have been a counsellor since 2011, and continue to work with adults affected by bereavement, grief, domestic abuse and mental health issues.

I work with individuals, couples or families that are facing a loved one's serious illness, including cancer and dementia, or struggling with the death of someone close. I have received specialist training in miscarriage and baby loss - stillbirth, neonatal death, sudden infant death, yet I can help if you've suffered the loss of a child or grandchild of any age.

I work alongside survivors of domestic abuse, and parents who are concerned about their teenager's relationship - perhaps you suspect or know that they're in an abusive relationship and would like support with this.

With a professional background in adult mental health, I work with families, couples or individuals who are experiencing or affected by depression, postnatal depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, low mood, schizophrenia, post-traumatic disorder or borderline personality disorder.

I have both personal insight and professional knowledge of autism, and I support individuals on the autism spectrum, and parents of children suspected of or diagnosed with autism.
