Mates in Mind

I offer client-led therapy incorporating psycho-education and creative/play techniques including sand tray and clay work expressive art, movement, role-play games, and The MAP Method working with the unconscious mind to treat and neutralise the impacts of trauma and anxiety, fears, phobias and anything getting in the way of living a content and calm life

I work with Adults, Children and Young People aged 7 up.
Sessions are tailored to the individual needs of the client allowing them to work through issues in a way that is suited to them. The MAP method is gentle and safe. discreet and has long-lasting results.

I have 7 years of experience in private practice and 5 years working therapeutically in schools with children and young people.

Creative Techniques

By reaching beyond the conscious level of imagination clients can replay their emotional experiences and begin to build resilience to life's challenges.
Play is a child's natural way to communicate and process their world and they can explore and express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without the need to find the words to describe them.
If as a child a client has missed stages of development through illness, adverse experiences, anxiety, stress, lack of self-esteem, or bullying, for example, they can revisit and rebuild those gaps through creative expressions and play.
Often clients find they can take control, make decisions and develop strategies to cope with difficulties in the future within the therapeutic space, they may begin to recognise their own strengths, build self-esteem and find a sense of self.
Creative therapy equally benefits adults and young people as it allows for deeper exploration of issues by reaching the unconscious mind.

The Rewind Technique

The Rewind Technique specifically designed to alleviate problematic symptoms of trauma and PTSD is also available as a standalone treatment or as part of a course of therapy.
The benefit of the Rewind is that the client doesn't have to disclose sensitive details of the traumatic event/s to the therapist and it reduces the risk of re-traumatising the person. It is suitable for ages 5 up as long as the details of the event can be recalled by the client, and relief from symptoms is usually felt in between 1-6 sessions.

Generalised Anxiety and Panic Disorder Recovery

I offer a Generalised Anxiety and Panic disorder recovery program which includes education regarding the mind/body/environment connection, helping you find the root cause and guide you to heal and recover from the problematic symptoms. This is usually carried out in weekly sessions for 8-12 weeks.

The MAP Method
A method based on neuroscience that literally teaches your brain to rewire itself from negative emotions, beliefs, and behaviors toward neutral or positive ones. It can be carried out on zoom or in person and is the biggest breakthrough since NLP, Tapping & Hypnosis
