    Action for Family Carers, formerly known as Maldon Carers Centre, was founded in 1989 and is a registered charity providing support and information to unpaid Carers. It is a network member of the Carers Trust, but maintains its own fully independent charitable status. The activities of the Centre are funded mainly by Essex County Council and the local NHS

  • Bereavement Counselling Service

    The Bereavement Counselling Service (BCS) is a charity which offers specialist bereavement counselling in response to complicated grief and traumatic loss. Our therapists have specialist knowledge, training and experience and work under regular professional supervision. The BCS is based in Plymouth (UK) and is partially funded by the Clinical Commissioning Group which covers Plymouth and some of Devon. With fund raising support it is possible for some clients to receive their counselling without charge.

    Bristol Relationships is an exciting new training initiative being put together by Barbara Bloomfield, Dominique Sakoilsky, Rex Baird and Zoe Baird. Barbara, Dominique and Rex have over fifty years of experience, with tens of thousands of contact hours of working with couples and, more recently, families between them. They all worked extensively together at Bristol Relate and, from 2007, were a core part of the team that pioneered the Family Counselling service there. All continue to have busy private practices. Now, in 2018, they are looking to share, expand and develop this body of knowledge and experience by offering specialist training to those interested working directly with human relationships.

Since its inception, the service has grown and through the massive network of professionals we are able to offer a comprehensive range of services that support people not just after they have lost someone special but also before, so that the support is available and that they can plan ahead.

These feelings can be confusing and overwhelming and it can help to talk to someone who understands. Cancer Focus NI’s counselling service gives you time to talk one-to-one in a safe, non-judgmental environment about what is important to you.

    Cruse is committed to breaking the stigma around grief and ensuring that everyone, no matter how old or young, can access the highest quality support following a bereavement. Cruse offers a telephone helpline, useful information online and trained volunteers provide face-to-face support and practical advice in branches across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

It recognises domestic violence comes in many forms; not just the physical, but also emotional, psychological and sexual; and that it can be suffered by any member of society.

    Dorothy House Hospice provide compassionate care and support for people in our community with a life-limiting illness. Dorothy House focuses on quality of life, so patients can live well and die well. Dorothy House give care and support to patients and their families in Bath and north east Somerset and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset, whenever they need it; at home, in the hospice, or at one of our outreach centres. Dorothy House respect the uniqueness of each patient and their family, and empower them to choose the type of care they receive.

    The Centre offers individual sessions in EMDR psychotherapy, supervision and high quality EMDR training courses. Our aim is to alleviate distress and suffering, to help people with traumatic experiences as well as – for therapists and coaches – to impart the application of EMDR in trauma therapy and coaching at a high level.

  • Knowle West Health Association

    KWHA Counselling Service is a free service set up as a counselling placement in 2015 primarily for those living in South Bristol. We are now staffed by both qualified counsellors and supervisors as well as professionally assessed student counsellors on placement. We have adopted an ‘as long as it takes’ approach so clients are not limited to a set number of sessions. We accept self-referrals as well as referrals from local groups, organisations and GP’s. Knowle West Health Association offers a holistic approach to health of which the counselling service is now an intrinsic part.

  • NW Counselling Hub CIC

    NWCH was founded on 1st April 2017 by Alex Parkin and Naomi Watkins. As co-founders, we both felt that there were gaps in the local community within Lincolnshire for supporting people’s mental health and wellbeing. We decided to create the Counselling Hub with an aim to fill these gaps. Our vision is to provide a central hub to support children, families, young people and adults as well as couples within Lincolnshire.

    Overgate Hospice offers a counselling service to patients, their relatives, friends and carers. It is a free and confidential service. "Our counsellors aim to provide support to those who are experiencing the emotions and difficulties associated with having a life-limiting illness, or caring for someone who has one, by providing a safe, quiet place to talk freely. Counselling can help to find ways of saying things that have been difficult to say to people who are close. It can help to make sense of feelings, and provide encouragement to untangle confusions and uncertainties. The service is entirely confidential and can help to maintain a sense of 'being in control'".

  • Oxfordshire Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre

    OSARCC was founded in 1979 as a collective of women, all volunteers, working to support women who had experienced rape and sexual abuse. Since 2009 OSARCC has been a charity, with a board of trustees, paid employees, and volunteers all working together to support survivors across Oxfordshire. OSARCC is an inclusive organisation who actively challenge discrimination in all its forms (including but not limited to discrimination based on race, religion, sexuality, disability, age, and class) and welcomes contact from women from all walks of life, including sex workers and trans women. At OSARCC we know that all survivors are different, and therefore aim to provide a range of support services to suit each individual, including telephone and email support, face to face support groups, counselling and advocacy services. We also recognise that supporting a survivor can feel isolating and our helpline and email support are also open to supporters of survivors of all genders, whether they are professionals, parents, partners, or friends.
