Key Workers during Covid-19 pandemic - see Charges for concessionary fees.
I am an Integrative Counsellor which means I work in more than one way using Person Centred, Gestalt, CBT, and Mindfulness models to help clients explore what is troubling them and to heal and grow, all within a safe, non-judgmental space. My work with you will be to facilitate change and to do that I want to see and understand your world as you see it, and your place within it. I want to hear your experience and how that experience impacts on your world.
We will build a trusting relationship in the safe space where we can be honest with each other and, your confidentiality assured. As we will travel together on your journey of change and recovery, you will feel held when needed and empowered through our work together to make your own decisions for healing and growth.
Whatever is troubling you right now, talking with someone is the way forward - even if you decide it isn't me, do reach out to a counsellor to start your healing process soon.
In addition to my counselling skills, I bring life experience offering added value to the therapeutic experience. With a lifelong passion for people whether through mentoring, coaching, training and motivational skills during careers in management, personnel or past business experience, counselling is my natural home and the vehicle that enables my lifelong passion to be put to best use to help others.
Here are a few examples of the issues I work with but not exclusively:-
Stress and anxiety
Depression and feelings of sadness
Childhood experiences including emotional neglect
My private practice is run from my home address where I have a counselling room for face to face counselling but I am naturally aware of people's anxiety caused by Covid-19 virus.
My main way of working is face to face and I am keeping up to date with the advice of the Government, Public Health England (PHE) and in particular the guidelines of the Professional Bodies regarding conducting face to face counselling during the outbreak, (including social distancing and hygiene routines after all face to face sessions) to ensure my clients are entering a safe environment and I am keeping myself safe from infection.
Some people seeking counselling support may have, or indeed a family member may have, underlying health issues, may be anxious about face to face counselling at the current time, and be deterred to starting counselling.
I am a member of the governing body BACP and adhere to their Ethical Framework and which is client centred.
I am dedicated to continual professional development attending workshops, seminars and lectures as part of my commitment to professional growth for the benefit of my clients.
I am DBS certified
