ABOUT MY SERVICE
Hello and welcome, you've made a positive decision in looking to start your counselling journey!
It takes courage to seek help and to want to change your life for the better and this is a strength.
As my counselling work has progressed through working with teens and adults, I have worked predominantly in helping people who have experienced trauma. I have worked with a wide range of issues from anxiety, depression, anger, abusive relationships, infidelity, trust issues, guilt, shame, emotional/physical/sexual abuse (recent and historical), PTSD, bereavement (including pets), loss of significant relationships, low mood, generalised anxiety disorder, low self-esteem, sexual identity, racism, discrimination, isolation and so on.
EAP WORK
I have worked in and alongside many industries over my working life and for large and small organisation like the NHS, the University of Nottingham, Colleges, Charities, the Council, Hair Salons and small family run businesses and experiencing my own and fellow colleagues difficulties of discrimination, bullying, workloads, relationship conflicts and the politics within the workplace, that people can emotionally struggle with and this has given me great insight and empathy, to work with EAP clients. Using solution focused brief therapy to work on issues in a short time and help clients to begin to see ways they can work with others, resolve issues and have a happier working life.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM COUNSELLING
We will work together to identify and achieve your personal aims for therapy, by becoming aware of your coping strategies and strengths, whilst taking the time to listen and work with the issues that are causing you distress, anxiety, and stress.
It is essential to understand that therapy is not a magic wand and therapy is a two way process that requires participation and investment from both client and therapist.
