I have worked for the NHS and have experience in primary care, I have worked for different NHS Trusts.
I have worked as a Counsellor Manager and a Service Lead of a NHS young peoples counselling, support and advocacy service.
More recently I have worked as a Counsellor Specialist supporting patients through amputee rehabilitation. I also have specialist experience of working with congenital limb difference from Pre-Natal through to adulthood.
I have worked as part of a multi-disciplinary NHS Tertiary Care service and supported patients of all ages affected by the trauma and pain of loss.
I have experience of supporting young people affected by the 2017 Manchester Bombing.
I have worked for staff employment schemes and have supported my NHS colleagues through the difficult and highly emotional COVID period.
I feel that I am easy to talk to, supportive and compassionate. I offer my clients respect and valuing and am friendly within appropriate boundaries.
I can be challenging and feel counselling is extremely helpful in working towards acceptance of the many difficulties which affect us but simply cannot be changed or undone. However, adopting new coping strategies and different ways of thinking can really help with many of the issues we can all experience, such as anxiety, depression and stress.
I hold a current Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Certificate.
