39 + years exp in social work, specialising in supporting individuals and families within a therapeutic milieu using systems theory and group work techniques..
25+ years of facilitating growth and development with teams of counsellors and offering individual and group clinical supervision.
Having travelled far and wide within social work to evoke change, I entered personal therapy when I discovered my internal world did not match my external experience of the universe. Rather than pursue a traditional route, my learning has been of an experiential nature. I have been a student on this path of self discovery and feel privileged to have met other seekers on my journey, each of us striving towards a new authentic reality. My travels have usually taken me down an alternative route and encouraged an attraction for left-field interests. Some of the stops I have made on my journey have led to places of growth such as The Open Centre where I spent 2 years in a body psychotherapy bioenergetics group under the direction of master alchemist Guy Gladstone, 2 years under the spell of Grace Goodman, a pioneering family counsellor and activist, and several years in personal humanistic psychotherapy. I attended The Adlerian Society of Wales for continued development and personal growth in individual psychology and psychotherapy. I have undertaken training in systemic and Adlerian family counselling, brief solution therapy, Human Givens and humanistic psychology. I spent a year as a member of a psychodynamic group at Reading university and underwent further training in Group Work with GCT (Groupwork, consultation & training). I have completed an MRes in Religious Experience, researching Altered States of Consciousness, Transpersonal Psychology and the benefits of using psychedelics within mental health. The transient nature of my journey has led me to search for greater meaning and purpose in life, to help bridge the gap between birth and death, the conscious and unconscious, and unravel the complexities we presently face in this era of transitional cosmic change.
