*Hi, I am an experienced Relationally trained therapeutic counsellor (over 14 years’ experience) and supervisor (over 4 years’ experience).
The Relational approach to therapy advocates that:
‘Relations between people are the basis of social and individual life and relational concepts are used to understand human life in all its complexity.’ Holmes, Paul, Pelham, Geoff (1996)
Our relationships are important in the development of our personality and a sense of self.
It is an integrative model which incorporates person centred, psychodynamic, existential-humanistic models.
My role is to help you understand your feelings and what they mean to you in the context of your relationship history and your current relationship with yourself and others.
Therapeutic change comes from developing a secure base with me and exploring conflicting relationships.
I offer a safe, confidential, ethical and boundaried service and hope to create a reparative relationship. You will not be judged, criticised or told what to do or think. You will be able to explore your relationships, life, thoughts, feelings, memories, dream/nightmares and find insight and meaning for yourself.
I have worked in Bradford as a counsellor for 14 years and have a wide range of experience.
I have worked with adults who have experienced many and varied life experiences including trauma and adverse experiences.
I spent 5 years working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse, both male and female survivors.
I spent 3 years working with problem gamblers.
I also provide counselling supervision.
I rent counselling rooms from Bradford Counselling Services in Bradford city centre.
