Everyone I work with is treated gently as an individual, as such my work is integrative which allows me to adopt the right approach for that person. I draw from theories such as Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing or Solution Focused Therapy.
I abide by the ethical framework of the National Counselling Society.
On your journey
I will offer a friendly, empathetic listening ear that will be non-judgemental, sensitive and confidential. We will work collaboratively to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a safe, private and tranquil space.
Life can be a struggle at times but my role as your counsellor is to guide and support you to develop your understanding and discover your choices. When we untangle those struggles, you will then go on to live a life where you can mindfully process a situation and learn to cope with it better.
I value individual difference, honesty, integrity and most importantly supporting you to find your own path allowing you build a relationship with me for your own growth.
I truly believe people can be empowered to find their own answers, improve their own resilience and continue to learn and grow to face all of life’s future challenges.
I also understand the thought of starting something new can be daunting and sometimes
overwhelming, least of all finding the courage to pick up the phone, talk to a stranger and ask for help... I would firstly like to try and reassure you that you are not alone. Together we can begin this journey of self exploration and awareness.
