Key Workers CounsellingMates in Mind

I have been working as a Counsellor / Psychotherapist for 13 years.

I am currently working as an independent therapist, also in the City of London for a large Corporate Financial Establishment, having just left an SEN secondary school in Croydon.

I have extensive experience having worked for Youth agencies with young people from the age of 11 years old to working with Adults in my previous private practice.

I have also had experience of working with Employee Assistance Programmes and for health care providers.

I am fully qualified, being trained in the Person Centered and Humanistic Models of Counselling, this means that I work with the Client using the 3 main Core conditions of Empathy, Congruence, and Unconditional Positive Regard. This enables me to support my clients to affect change within their lives and to empower them to reach their fullest potentials.

I now work as an Integrative Humanistic therapist, meaning that I integrate other Humanistic models into my sessions, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, and Existential Therapies including some CBT where suitable, as well as the advanced use of Mindfulness within therapy. i am also trained in EMDR to support clients with Trauma and other difficult situations.

Working in a truly client centered way means that I have the belief that my clients have the fullest capacity to heal themselves given the right support and environment, and that the path of support is very fluid and evolves with each individual.

Counselling/Psychotherapy are terms relating to short term or longer term talking therapies that are carried out by trained practitioners whom are under a recognised regulatory professional body. I follow the BACP – British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists ethical framework for Counselling Professions. Additionally, I am a Registered and Accredited member of the BACP (registration number 020459). Being accredited shows that a therapist has reached a level within their practice that demonstrates that that they are competent, independent and ethical and commits to ongoing Continuous professional development. This is checked on a yearly basis.

I have a current enhanced DBS check (previously known as CRB check) to work with young people.

I have Public Liability and Professional Liability insurance with "Towergate Professional Risks".

I am Registered as an associate with AVIVA Healthcare.Nuffield Healthcare and Cigna
