Mates in Mind

I am Maria and live in Leigh on Sea. I bring more than 9 years’ experience in counselling children, adolescents and adults. I am also a qualified Supervisor.
I offer you a safe, modern and welcoming environment in Central Southend. We will be within a professional, confidential and non judgemental space. Where I will work with you to help you find ways to live your life in a more fulfilling, happy way. Counselling will give you the opportunity to explore and understand past and present issues. Whilst allowing you the time, space and support to make positive change.
I work in a Person Centred Humanistic way but will also use a variety of skills and techniques to aid us in moving forward. I combine techniques from the following approaches to counselling;
CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy)
Psychodynamic
Humanistic
When working with young children I also use thera-play (such as toys, arts and crafts, games) to aid the child in expressing themselves.
I feel that it is important in my work to focus on the client and work collaboratively and sometimes creatively in a safe and confidential environment. Somewhere where you will be heard and listened to without being judged. Where desired change, clarity, or a different way forward can be explored.
