Talking to a counsellor is different than talking to friends or family. Friends and family tend to give you their opinion on what they think you should do. Whereas with a counsellor, it is your time for you to be listened to and understood in a non-judgemental and empathetic environment.

Counselling is not about me telling you the solutions, I will help to guide you at a comfortable pace to enable you to find the solutions that are best suited to you.

Throughout counselling, issues that are discussed are kept confidential, this allows a client to be able to feel that they can be honest without the fear of being judged.

We all have good and bad days which is completely natural but sometimes life events can cause for us to feel out of balance for longer periods and unsure of how to change this. Counselling is about working together to enable the client to find their own way to gain their personal balance.

Asking for help is a positive step but can also be quite daunting. I'm more than happy to discuss any questions or queries you may have to alleviate any concerns. I work using different techniques but mainly using Person Centered Therapy, CBT, Psychodynamic and Mindfulness.

Everybody is uniquely different so I feel it is important for a client to work with the right person for them. The one they are most drawn to. If a client feels that I am that person then together we can explore, at the clients pace, what is troubling them in a way that works best for that individual client.

I also volunteer for The Purple Rose Bereavement Center based in Gorleston, Great Yarmouth as part of the well-being team for their staff.
