I believe in an integrative approach when working with my clients as I am trained in and use other approaches where appropriate, these include, person centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), transactional analysis (TA), couples counselling, group and family therapy. I am trained to work with survivors of abuse.
Since qualifying as a Counsellor I have worked in private practice and in a voluntary capacity for the Charity 'Home Start'. I was the lead counsellor with the Exeter Community Initiative helping to provide a counselling service for their childrens centres for more than three years. My counselling clients have come with many different issues including relationship difficulties, abuse, stress, anxiety, low self-esteem and depression.
I have worked as a trainer, coach and facilitator for more than twenty years. Coaching clients have brought topics including business development needs, relationship problems, management skills, presentation skills, career choices and planning.
My past years experience working in private practice and the voluntary sector has taught me the importance of approaching each client as a unique individual.
