I offer a friendly and professional counselling relationship, service and environment. My approach is open, warm and non-judgemental, offering a safe, calm, supportive and confidential space for us to work together. I will completely value your experience and will be thoughtful in exploring your issues. I will utilise my skills and experience as a counsellor of more than eighteen years, to find meaningful ways of working together and at your pace.
I will help you find your way through whatever difficulty you are experiencing or problem you are facing. Together we will work towards making sense of what feels overwhelming or confusing and difficult. We can work on increasing your self-esteem and improving your self-awareness. Through deepening your understanding of your issues and building your confidence, you will be able to make that difficult decision, manage that tricky relationship, find a strategy that works for you, successfully navigate that crisis and better understand how you relate to others and those around you.
I believe we can find a way forwards for you and from within you, drawing on all your knowledge and experiences. We will find resources that you have both within and outside of yourself. It can be the simple things which help and give us time to reflect and offer balance and perspective in our lives. I love to read a book, swim or watch a movie to take time out and reflect. A walk in the trees or being near water is calming for me and allows me to rest and restore. We can talk about the ways in which you can or do support yourself, as it is important for you generally in life and especially when undertaking counselling, to ensure that you are safe and supported outside of the therapy room.
I attend regular supervision to support my work and actively seek out training and reading to keep my practice informed and ethical.
I understand that it can be difficult to ask for help and believe that it takes courage to enter into having some counselling. If you have any questions or are curious about anything, please feel free to make contact and ask. I look forward to hearing from you.
