She integrates different psychotherapeutic approaches and techniques to meet each of her client’s unique preferences, needs and concerns.

Kathryn’s first experience of psychotherapy was as a young adult training to be a teacher in Oxford when she underwent psychoanalytic psychotherapy with a practitioner who is now highly esteemed in this field. She learned first-hand how a skilled therapist can help their client heal, strengthen and reset the trajectory of his or her life.

Years later, following her divorce, Kathryn benefited from a shorter course of more practical counselling, whereby she learned tools for dealing effectively with the quite substantial challenges brought to her. At this time, she was also introduced to hypnotherapy which for her was a more rapid way of facilitating change both in behaviours and mood as well as outlook.

In 2012, Kathryn completed a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling accredited by The Royal School of Nursing. She is currently training for an Advanced Certificate in Neurolinguistic Hypnotherapy and is excited about how this will enhance her provision for her clients.

Following her career in Education where she worked in school leadership for seventeen years and also for five years as an Independent Schools Inspector, Kathryn has a particular specialism in working with families, children and adolescents, and also with adults who work in schools.

Mindfulness includes practices supported by neuroscience for stress reduction, relaxation and emotional equilibrium. On the back of experiencing these benefits for adults, Kathryn was keen to train with the Mindfulness In Schools Project and she now offers Mindfulness teaching to children in schools, as well as in her private practice.

As an accredited member of The National Counselling Society and a registrant member of The National Hypnotherapy Society, Kathryn is bound by their Professional Code of Ethics and professional practice. She is enhanced DBS checked, has a clinical supervisor and undertakes continuous professional development which is accredited by these societies.
