Thank you for viewing my profile and I appreciate differentiating one therapist from another can be very difficult. Please feel free to be in touch to ask me any questions that might help you to decide if I might be the right therapist to help and support you or someone you care about.
I have been providing counselling and psychotherapy support for over 20 years across a range of settings including schools, hospices, GP surgeries and clinics. My main areas of work are bereavement, loss, grief, trauma and (in)fertility support.
I spent many years working with MIND, helping people manage their depression, anxiety, self harm and other life debilitating disorders. In all situations we aimed to create strategies, increase confidence, boost motivation and develop self worth. Many of these emotional states are also linked with loss and grief.
Alongside my private practice I am currently working in a number of Fertility clinics supporting donors and people exploring the option, going through or coming out of fertility treatment. I am very aware of the lack of support currently available in this area and often the many years of pain and suffering endured before support might be found. In addition I find myself working with many women and couples who have suffered miscarriages (often multiple) and allowing them to express (sometimes for the first time out loud) the impact this has had/is having on their life.
What I promise is to listen and hear what you are saying. Provide a confidential and trusting relationship enabling you to feel safe and to bring my understanding and clarity to whatever situation you present. In addition, to let you know if I feel I am not the correct therapist to support you.
As a Senior accredited member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and an Accredited member of the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) and IARTT (Trauma Therapy), I abide by the code of ethics of these organisations.
All my counselling sessions are via Phone or Video.
