My name is Vicky and I am an enthusiastic Person Centred Counsellor based in the Vale of Belvoir.
Sometimes a chat with your best friend is not enough. Maybe you need help finding a fresh perspective. There are times where you might benefit from talking to someone who is not involved in your everyday life. I aim to give you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where you can explore the difficulties you may be facing right now.
Everyone is unique so my one-to-one counselling will be tailored to your needs keeping you, the client, at the heart of our sessions.
My aim is to allow you the time, security and space to reflect on how your life is be that in the here and now, looking at day to day life or as a bigger picture. Are there things you would like to do differently but are unsure of how or where to start? Maybe you have identified a pattern of behaviour as history keeps repeating itself, but are unsure why this is happening? Together we can explore, awareness is key to change and growth. I am not afraid to visit a dark place with you if you so choose to take me there, but what I will do with the depth and trust we would firstly establish in our relationship is keep you safe whilst we visit.
Being a person centred therapist I work in a client led environment. At a pace that is comfortable and safe for you. I will not push you into areas that you don't want to go to. I am not a fixer and certainly don't have a magic wand but I may have a few suggestions to help you on the journey.
I appreciate how big a step it may feel to contact a counsellor, and for this reason I offer a free initial phone consultation that can be arranged via phone, text or email, at a time suitable to us both to have an initial discussion about how it works, answer any questions you may have and hopefully alleviate any concerns or fears regarding taking the first step to getting help.
I also offer the option of myself travelling to your home for the sessions to be held there. This is to allow you to be as at ease as possible, and as long as you can provide a confidential environment for us to work within.
Another area I work within is Equine Therapy, where we can have counselling sessions on your own horse, around your own horse or with one of my ponies. I do not offer any ridden therapy on my horses but can facilitate access to spending time around mine.
I also have a facebook page, where I post regular quotes, things to think about and can be contacted via that. The fact you are here reading my profile shows you are interested in helping yourself, and I can be a part of your journey.
I am qualified and accredited and have full insurance.
I have experience working with both adults and children, tailoring the therapy to the individuals needs.
