About me

I am a Psychotherapeutic counsellor with experience working with adults and under 18 year olds. I have worked in a school with a 6th form totalling over 2,000 students so have considerable experience with adolescent mental health issues. I also worked in a private capacity for students which was funded by parents or guardians as an option when the school funded sessions had finished. I also offered staff members the option of self-funded counselling to help support them and the overall well-being of the school as a whole. I have also worked with adult mental health clients for my training placement at Oakleaf Enterprise in Guildford.
I currently work at The Eaves as an affiliate and see adults and under 18 year olds from their practices in Godalming, Guildford and Farnham and also see clients on zoom.
I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society (MNCS Accred) and member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and adhere to their code of ethical practice, I am also a member of The Complimentary Medical Association (MCMA)

Deciding that you need professional help to work through issues you have is the first step and i appreciate that it is not always easy. We all have paths in life that we do our best to navigate through, but sometimes this does not always go as planned. This may cause stress, anxiety, low self-esteem and confidence, relationship issues, addictions, compulsions, loneliness, isolation and feeling very overwhelmed, just to name a few.
Communicating thoughts and feelings with others can be difficult for fear of being judged or thinking others do not understand your struggles which is common and can leave the person feeling isolated, vulnerable and a burden to others. This is the reason people turn to counselling
and the next step is finding a counsellor that you are comfortable with and able to trust.
This can a be daunting prospect as counsellors have different approaches they use.
My approach is one that is based on a good therapeutic relationship between us, offering a casual, safe space that is confidential, non-judgemental, safe, warm, comfortable and supportive where we can explore your issues and difficulties together.
As a therapist, i understand that sharing your problems with me can be painful so i do not work to any set agenda or strategy to put in place, only a deep level of acceptance and respect for you as fellow human being. My goal as a therapist is to fully understand what it is like in your world and during our time together, commit to being with you throughout our sessions.
I fully appreciate that life can at times be difficult and challenging but we will look closely at whatever it is that is causing you distress and help you on a journey to a more fulfilled future and a better understanding of yourself as an individual by reaching your goals and finding coping strategies and tools to put in place.
