Organisational Member & Application

The National Counselling Society is a not for profit organisation whose primary role is the advancement of counselling and psychotherapy.

We are happy to offer organisational membership to a range of different types of organisations. We welcome applications from charities, voluntary groups, agencies, clinics and not for profit organisations as well as commercial organisations. If you are involved with and/or interested in counselling then do apply –please contact us if you want any further information.

We believe that membership of a professional organisation is essential as it allows you to belong to the wider community of counsellors and ensures that you are aware of the different issues that affect our profession.

We believe that counselling is a vocation and we want your professional association to feel like a ‘home’ – a place where all of our members can feel that they are working in partnership with their professional association.

The Society was actively involved in the campaign against the previous Government’s plans for statutory regulation and continues to be engaged in all the discussions about the proposed voluntary register scheme. We feel that it is essential that the voices of all those who are involved in the profession are represented and we post timely and regular updates on our website and in our monthly e-newsletters.

As an organisational member of the NCS we ask you to agree to abide by the Society’s Code of Ethics – this demonstrates to your peers and the public that your organisation is committed to safe and ethical practice.

We offer membership to any organisation that is involved in counselling or related professions:

Annual membership for charities, voluntary or not for profit organisations is £100
Annual membership for commercial/profit making organisations is £200
